Born England, 1936. Studied at RAC 1955 - 1963, and taught
there from 1963 - 1971. Known for flat graphic style of the
sign painter. As his art focuses on interiors and still-lifes,
rather than contemporary images from popular culture, he does
not regard his own work as ' Pop Art'. He treats familiar
objects in a formalized manner, and paints everyday objects
in isolation. The 3-D nature of subject is represented in
a flat manner. His technique can be traced to the influence
of Leger.
